Information is provided here for resolving trouble in operation centering on residential-use air conditioners. Although all situations are not covered in this section, answers to the most frequently asked areas are provided. To save time and trouble, we recommend that you refer first to this page.

Emits strange odor

  • An unpleasant odor is detected from the air conditioner.

    This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner.

    A room odor from furniture, cigarette, etc., was transmitted to the indoor unit during air intake and is being blown during operation. (Cleaning the indoor unit is recommended. For instructions on cleaning, please consult the dealer where the unit was purchased.)

  • Air blown from air conditioner has a burnt odor.

    Call the dealer where the unit was purchased immediately.

    Disconnect he power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and call the dealer where the unit was purchased immediately.

Maintenance

  • What will happen if I do not do any servicing?

    The life span of the air conditioner will be shortened, cooling coil and rotor will be clogged and water leakage may occur. Thus, this will reduce the performance and cooling efficiency of the air conditioner.

  • What happens if a filter sign lights up and what is its function?

    This shows that the air filter requires cleaning. The filter check indicator indicates an appropriate cleaning time, depending on the environment. This indicator acts as a reminder for users to clean the air filter. After cleaning, you need to reset by pressing the filter sign button on the remote controller to deactivate the red light.

  • Maintenance time

    We proposed conditioning maintenance every 3 months if used daily.

  • Can the air filter and air purifying filter be washed?

    Air filter

    • Wash the air filters with water or clean them with vacuum cleaner.
    • If the dust does not come off easily, wash them with neutral detergent thinned with lukewarm water, then dry them up in the shade.
    • It is recommended to clean the air filters every two weeks.

    Air purifying filter

    • Because the filter material is paper, it cannot be cleaned with water.
    • After removing the dust with a vacuum cleaner, place the filter in the sun for approximately 6 hours (By drying the photo-catalytic deodorizing filter in the sun, its deodorizing and antibacterial capabilities are regenerated.)
    • It is recommended dry the filter once every 6 months.
  • What is the purpose of an air purifying filter?
    • It helps to remove fine dust, pollen, tobacco smoke and odor in the room. Thus, it provides cleaner and fresher air for healthy living. It is commonly used by customers who are sensitive to dust.
  • How often should my air conditioner be serviced?

    It is recommended to have the air conditioner serviced on a regular basis by a qualified technician to maintain optimum performance and cooling efficiency as well as maintaining the life span of the air conditioner. It is recommended to perform a quarterly servicing (if unit is used everyday).
